Terms of Service
1. Overview
Welcome to Walter (https://walter.aiintegratedconcepts.com), an educational platform operated by AI Integrated Concepts ("Walter," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Walter platform, including all features, tools, and services offered through the website.
By creating an account or using Walter, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
Walter is designed for use by teachers, students, and school administrators. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use this platform. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older.
3. Account Registration & Security
To access Walter, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information, including your name, email address, phone number, and school affiliation. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Not create accounts for others without authorization or create multiple accounts for yourself.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Walter supports multi-factor authentication to enhance account security. MFA may be required by your school administrator. When MFA is enabled, you may verify your identity using an authenticator app (TOTP) or SMS text message. A valid phone number is required at registration to support SMS-based verification.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Walter only for lawful educational purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform, other accounts, or related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's functionality, servers, or networks.
- Upload, transmit, or share content that is offensive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Use the platform to harass, bully, or intimidate other users.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access or interact with the platform.
- Circumvent or attempt to bypass any security features, including multi-factor authentication.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms at our sole discretion.
5. Payments & Billing
Walter uses Stripe to process all payment transactions. We do not store, collect, or have access to your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details. All payment information is entered directly into Stripe's secure payment forms and is handled entirely by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy and PCI-DSS standards.
We may receive limited transaction details from Stripe, such as the last four digits of your card, card brand, and billing status, solely for the purpose of displaying payment history and managing your subscription.
6. SMS Communications & Consent
Key details regarding SMS communications:
- Purpose: SMS messages are used exclusively to deliver one-time verification codes for multi-factor authentication. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages.
- Frequency: You will receive an SMS message each time you sign in using SMS-based MFA, or when you request a new verification code. Frequency depends on your sign-in activity.
- Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of SMS-based verification at any time by switching to authenticator app-based MFA through your account settings, or by contacting your school administrator to adjust your MFA configuration. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to use the platform if an alternative verification method is available.
- Carrier Disclaimer: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Help: For questions about SMS verification, contact us at [email protected].
7. Intellectual Property & Content
The Walter platform, including its design, code, features, graphics, and documentation, is the property of AI Integrated Concepts and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
Content you create or upload through the platform remains yours. By using Walter, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the platform's services. We do not claim ownership of user-generated content.
8. School Administrators
School administrators may have elevated permissions, including the ability to manage user accounts, configure MFA settings, and view user activity within their school. If you are using Walter through a school, your administrator may impose additional policies governing your use. Your school administrator may also be able to update or reset your account settings, including your MFA configuration.
9. Availability & Modifications
We strive to keep Walter available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or service at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may also deactivate your account by contacting your school administrator. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will remain in effect.
11. Disclaimers
Walter is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Integrated Concepts and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the platform. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
